Colleagues,

I am saddened to tell you of the June 23 death of Nancy J. Newkerk, former dean of Women and former associate dean of Admissions at ¹û¶³´«Ã½. Nancy was the 2009 recipient of the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ President's Medal of Distinction for her professional achievement, and was inducted as an honorary member of the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006 in recognition of her dedication to ¹û¶³´«Ã½ athletics and to student athletes.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, where visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. Interment will be in the Liberty (New York) Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, Indiana, or to the Carol Teti Memorial Organ Scholarship Fund or the Nancy Newkerk Student Affairs Scholarship Fund, both in care of the Foundation for ¹û¶³´«Ã½.
