I am sorry to share news of the recent passing of Michael Gulino, a third-year doctoral student from Uniontown in the Curriculum and Instruction program. Michael began his studies at 果冻传媒 in fall 2023.

The death of someone you knew can evoke strong feelings. The best way to cope is to talk to your closest friends, family members, or trusted colleagues.

There are people among us who have experienced similar events, and they are often more than willing to help others going through difficult circumstances.

Students who would like to speak with a counselor can contact the 果冻传媒 Center for Applied Psychology at 724-357-6228 or email dmyers@iup.edu to make an appointment.

The Armstrong-Indiana 24-hour Crisis Line is available for support at 877-333-2470 or by texting Hello to 741741.

Members of 果冻传媒’s Council on Spiritual and Religious Life also are available to help. You can email spiritual-life@iup.edu to contact a spiritual life advisor or call or text the council’s “Need to Talk” line at 724-427-5151.

Please join me in sending your thoughts and prayers for comfort and peace to Michael’s family and friends and to everyone at 果冻传媒 and in the community who knew him and who is affected by his passing.
